I was really excited to get this book, especially because I've had great experiences with this company in the past, and their products mean a lot to me. The book was supposed to be a high-quality hardcover with 259 pages, and when the softcover arrived— it had an MSRP of $100 on the back. When I received it, I was completely shocked. It felt like it was printed at a local print shop – like something you'd make for a school project.
I did some digging and found out that the publishing company is pretty new, which might explain the lack of quality. Everything about the book felt off – the alignment, the photos, the font, and spacing. It's almost like they didn't put much effort into it. What I got was more like a 40-page catalog than a proper book— also mentioned in other reviews.
I contacted the company, thinking there must have been a mix-up with my order. They told me it was intentional and that they sent an email stating it would be two volumes and softcover because of production issues. But this just makes me think they're not living up to what they promise in their marketing. What arrived was not signed, only a single book, and no communication of additional books arriving, no apologies, etc. I personally would’ve pulled this and refunded everyone their money.
I'll be disputing this with my credit card because there's no way this book should be priced and marketed like this. I have never experienced anything like this. Why is it even still listed for sale as the original book?
Unfortunately I have to agree with the other reviews here. While I absolutely adore my sweatshirt featuring my kittens, this “book” is not as advertised. It isn’t a hardcover book, it did not come signed and, at roughly 1/4” thick, I don’t think it should be considered a coffee table book. I basically spent $50 on a magazine.
Still waiting on response to my earlier email complaint sent 8/23/2023. Was told someone would get back to me. I feel like I was scammed. No hardback, no picture or story of my cat after filling out the information requested by you and no information on the so call 2nd volume. I was willing to wait but was very very disappointed.
Loved getting to see all of the kitties that have been lucky enough to get sweaters made with their likeness. Was very cute and my wife liked seeing all the other cats.
The positive: We loved getting to see our cats in the book, as well as look through all the other cats.
The negative: However, it’s definitely not hardcover and not what I expected as a “coffee table book.” It’s fairly thin, paperback, and the overall aesthetic feels more like an adult coloring book. It’s not aesthetically pleasing or the type of book to sit out on the coffee table. It was a great idea and we are grateful our cats were chosen, but the execution was poor. The quality is no where close to worth $47.
P.s. I’m still LOVING my Cats & Stitch sweatshirt and have been dying to get past this summer heat to start wearing it again!
